Fire near the Big Spring State Park, 08/25/23

BIG SPRING, TX — On Friday, at approximately 1:30pm, KBest News was informed that the Big State State Park has been evacuated due to a fire in the area. Multiple agencies along with the Big Spring Fire Department worked to extinguish the blaze. According to Jay Holt, Interim Chief for the Big Spring Fire Department, the fire was contained at approximately 3:15 pm. No further information is available at this time.
