BIG SPRING, TX — The Big Spring Brawl presented by 360 degree Pro Wrestling will be in Big Spring on Saturday, August 12th. It will feature a variety of wrestlers, including Booker T, an overall six-time world champion in professional wrestling. This event is meant to raise money for the Big Spring YMCA, provide a night of entertainment for the family, and raise awareness about bullying.
According to Dathan Jones, CEO of the Big Spring YMCA, statistics say that kids being bullied are more likely to suffer from a lot of mental health issues because they feel unwanted and not socially accepted.
“People are bullying kids and other people all the time, and sometimes they may not even know that they are doing it,” said Jones.
He went on to say that the Big Spring Brawl is a fundraiser, but it’s also public service announcement to the youth about bullying. During the event, Booker T. will be speaking to the kids about bullying and anti-bullying.
The Big Spring Brawl will be held at the Big Spring Jr. High, located at 624 E. 6th St.. Matches begin at 7 PM.
Jones advised that the event will be a night of fun and excitement with multiple championship matches and possibly even a cage match.
“It’s gonna be all sorts of good wholesome entertainment. The whole family can go to the show, not just dad and son and brother. Everybody can go to the show and enjoy it,” said Jones.
Cost is $20 for General Admission and $35 for Meet & Greets with floor seats. Tickets are available at the Big Spring YMCA, located at 801 Owens. All money raised from the event will go back into the YMCA programs that benefit the community.
