BIG SPRING, TX – On Friday morning, Big Spring ISD recently had a ribbon cutting to celebrate new window wraps for Marcy Elementary, made possible with funds from Callon Petroleum. According to Treena Foster, Principal at Marcy Elementary, these wraps assist in making a safer environment for their Kindergarten and 2nd grade students.
In a letter to Callon Petroleum, Foster explained that school safety plays a crucial role in youth’s development and academic success. Students who feel safe at school tend to have better emotional health and are less likely to engage in risky behaviors. That sense of safety contributes to an overall feeling of connection.
The new window wraps will restrict people from seeing into the school and assist in minimizing threats.
