COAHOMA, TX — Last summer, the Coahoma City Council and Coahoma EDC gave their approval to the non-profit organization Coahoma Pride Inc. to build a Splash Pad in the northeast corner of the Coahoma Park, next to the Coahoma Community Center.
Last week it was announced that -thanks to the help of Coahoma Pride Inc, Coahoma EDC, the City of Coahoma- the down payment for the Splash Pad was sent in and it should be ready by Memorial Day weekend.
According to Lori Martinez, Coordinator for Coahoma Splash Pad w/ Coahoma Pride Inc., the splash pad will be ADA compliant and free to everyone. The only time the water will be used is when it is activated by a button so it will not be wasteful. The entire cost of the project is over $250,000. Coahoma Pride Inc. was able to contribute just over $50,000 and the Coahoma EDC funded the remaining balance.
Donations are still being accepted to add seating and awnings. Donations can be sent to:

Donations can also be made at Western Bank, 607 Scurry St. in Big Spring.
