BIG SPRING, TX — Last week, Ward Family Dental in Big Spring participated in Smiles for Freedom by performing free dental work for approximately 35 Veterans.
According to Jennifer Ramirez, Office Manager for Ward Family Dental, Veterans were pre-screened before the event to evaluate their dental needs. On Friday, Big Spring dentists Dr. David Ward, Dr. Robert Bailey, Dr. Amy Reese, and Dr. Raj Gutta from Midland. Dental work ranged from tooth extractions, fillings, and periodontal therapy which was estimated to cost tens of thousands of dollars in services.
Joe Guerrero, a Marine Corps. Veteran, had a chipped tooth fixed, a cavity filled, and also received a deep cleaning. When asked how he felt about the Smiles for Freedom program, Guerrero told KBest News, “I like it a lot. I think it’s an excellent program. I’m very grateful that they offered something like that for us Veterans.”
