From the Big Spring Police Department:
Sgt. John Haynes of the Big Spring Police Department and Chairman Clarence Hartfield, Jr. of the Big Spring/Howard County Area Crime Stoppers, Inc., recently attended the 33rd Annual Texas Crime Stoppers Conference that was held October 19th through the 21st.
Each October, Crime Stoppers volunteers and law enforcement coordinators from across the state gather for the annual Texas Crime Stoppers conference. The event provides attendees with a well-rounded experience and offers crime stoppers training, information on regulations and policies regarding Crime Stoppers Organizations in Texas. As part of the annual conference there is a Texas Best awards banquet in which numerous awards are given out for different criteria. This year, the Big Spring/Howard County Area Crime Stoppers, Inc. was awarded the Productivity award 2021 “ Most Cases Cleared” For population 40-50K.

This award is for all citizens of Big Spring/Howard County, as our citizens keep their eyes and ears open and utilize Crime Stoppers to report tips on cases that the Big Spring Police Department and the Howard County Sheriff’s Office are working. Many times, these tips provide the missing information to solve crimes and clear cases.
