BIG SPRING, TX — On Wednesday, staff at Lamun-Lusk-Sanchez Texas State Veterans Home cooked lunch of hamburgers and hot dogs for the local first responders. According to Keila Cude, Administrator, this is the staff’s way of supporting the first responders for all the work that they do for the community and their residents.
Daphne Glenn, Admissions Coordinator, told KBest News that it’s important to recognize the first responders because they help the facility everyday when someone needs to go to the hospital.
“This is just a little way of us to be able to say thank you for all that they do. Our lifesavers, basically, is what they are, our lifesavers for our residents and all the extras that they help with to help us take care of our veterans,” said Glenn.
She went on to say that the local first responders are awesome and the staff appreciates the opportunity they have to show their support back to them.
Cude told KBest News that first responders in this area love their job and love what they do, and it shows.
Staff at Lamun-Lusk-Sanchez staff are decked out the Big Spring Cowboys gear as part of a marketing blitz competition that is going on now between the state veteran homes. Lamun-Lusk-Sanchez has been designated as the Big Spring Cowboys.
