MIDLAND, TX – A local news anchor was recently recognized for his continued support of a local non-profit organization.
CBS 7’s Jay Hendricks was one of two people awarded the Harriet Herd Founders Award for continued service to Centers for Children and Families, an organization that offers counseling, educational, and supportive services to help children, individuals and families manage the challenges of life.
Hendricks told KBest News that he and Steve Taylor, the other award recipient, had been assisting CCF for many years with their annual fundraisers that feature various celebrities. Hendricks emcees the event, and Taylor acts as the auctioneer.
“I am honored,” said Hendricks of receiving b the award. “I love doing their event and was surprised to learn I have done all 20 of their events. I love what they do at Centers and am lucky that they keep coming back to me to help.”
