COAHOMA, TX – Yesterday, Coahoma High School senior Brysen Kerby signed his letter of intent to join the McPherson College football program.
Kerby was a four-year varsity running back for the Coahoma Bulldog football team, who had a career-high of 3,628 yards rushing and 49 touchdowns. During his senior year, he had 1,158 yards rushing, eight touchdowns, and 1,400-plus all-purpose yards. He was also named to the all-district first team for the 2019, 2020, and 2021 seasons.
When asked how he felt to celebrate this moment with his friends and family, Kerby told KBest News that it meant a lot to him.
“It was an amazing experience, honestly. It was just really nice to have all the people that supported me throughout the last four years around me and to just be able to have them around in this moment of my life. Yeah, it’s really nice,” said Kerby.
McPherson, located in Kansas, is a Division II program and a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). The McPherson Bulldogs play in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference.
Kerby had several offers to play football at various schools but says he chose McPherson because of the kind of atmosphere and relationship between the team and coaches. He told KBest News that he plans to study pre-med and looks forward to meeting new people and creating a new family through football.
