SCURRY COUNTY, TX — The Scurry County Sheriff’s Office has released information about a suspicious death that occurred in the area. According to the press release, the sheriffs office was notified this morning about a deceased male located near a bar near the intersection of FM 1606 and County Road 394.
The identity of the individual has not yet been released and it’s pending notification of next of kin and further investigative steps.

PRESS RELEASE – SUSPICIOUS DEATH
On the morning of June 2, 2025, at approximately 8:09 AM, the Scurry County Sheriff’s Office received a call regarding a possible deceased male located in the bar ditch near the intersection of FM 1606 and County Road 394.
Deputies and EMS were dispatched to the scene and did located a deceased male. The identity of the individual is not being released, pending notification of next to kin and further investigative steps.
The incident is currently under investigation, and no further information is available at this time. The Sheriff’s Office is working diligently with the Texas Rangers to determine the circumstances surrounding the death.
